Wound Healing Center

Most Advanced Treatments

Do you have diabetes, poor circulation, or an ostomy? If you have any of the three and are frustrated with a cut, scrape, sore or surgical incision that is not healing, our Wound Healing Center can help.

Located at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, we are the longest operating center in the area. We have treated more than 16,000 wounds during the past six years and cared for 4,600 patients last year alone. The fact that we care for such a large number of people means our doctors and nurses have the experience to achieve the best results. Because of our expertise, we have a 90 percent healing rate and help patients heal faster than the national average. It’s why we’re certified by the American Academy of Wound Management.

We use specialized treatments to ensure you recover as quickly and completely as possible. Our services include:

  • Health assessments to diagnose your problem and develop your treatment plan
  • Extensive wound treatments that remove dead, damaged or infected tissue from a wound so healthy tissue is expose, allowing the wound to heal
  • The latest wound dressing techniques to care for wounds that result from burns, accidents, cancer and radiation therapy
  • Advanced medications and therapies specially designed to enhance wound healing
  • Access to specialists such as plastic, general and vascular surgeons, pain control experts, foot specialists (podiatrists and pedorthotists), family medicine physicians, nurses, educators, physical therapists and nutritionists
  • Individualized patient and family education about wound care and prevention, nutrition and diet, and diabetes and circulation problems

Our team approach to your care means we will work with you, your doctor and your family to heal your wounds. Our team sees patients in and out of the hospital to provide a seamless transition when you leave the hospital, and to ensure your wound heals completely. Our goal is to heal your wound within 12 to 14 weeks and prevent your wound from coming back.
